31. “Quoting “Zetetic Cosmogeny” Thomas Winships states: “Let ‘imagination’ picture to the mind what force air would have which was set in motion by a spherical body of 8,000 miles in diameter, which in one hour was spinning round 1,000 mph, rushing through space at 65,000 mph and gyrating across the heavens? Then let ‘conjecture’ endeavor to discover whether the inhabitants on such a globe could keep their hair on? If the earth-globe rotates on its axis at the terrific rate of 1,000 miles an hour, such an immense mass would of necessity cause a tremendous rush of wind in the space it occupied. The wind would go all one way, and anything like clouds which got ‘within the sphere of influence’ of the rotating sphere, would have to go the same way. The fact that the earth is at rest is proved by kite flying.

Quoting an assertion in old piece of nonsense does not add and evidence or reasoning.

This is the same claim yet again, and still wrong. The overall atmosphere is at rest relative to our position on the Earth, and all our motion through space is at a steady, unchanging rate, so we can’t feel it.  So we feel only the addition more local disturbances, usually called the wind. This is completely logical, and you offer no reasoned argument to the contrary.

But – here’s a funny thing! Mr Dubay is quoting an argument that directly contradicts what he said in point 23 and relied on in many other claims. Before, he said that it would take “magic” for the rotating earth to cause the atmosphere to rotate along with it.

Now he agrees that “If the earth-globe rotates on its axis at the terrific rate of 1,000 miles an hour, such an immense mass would of necessity cause a tremendous rush of wind in the space it occupied. The wind would go all one way, and anything like clouds which got ‘within the sphere of influence’ of the rotating sphere, would have to go the same way.”

Which is pretty much was does happen, and the direct opposite of his earlier attempt to pretend that “Ball-believers often claim “gravity” magically and inexplicably drags the entire lower-atmosphere of the Earth in perfect synchronization …such non-sensical theories are debunked”

Which is it.? You can’t have both, Mr Dubay.

See point 23 and  point 141 for the more detailed answer.
